Clipping is prevented in this new amp line with a built-in pre-amp restrictor. It will not allow the amp to overdrive the power section.

The result, explained AD Designs, is that bass is dramatically improved and power output is doubled. AD said its 500 watt amplifiers are comparable in output to 1,000 watt or higher power amplifiers.

AD Designs National Sales Manager Steve Milton said, “In a typical 1,000 watt amplifier, if you set the gain to the top, you end up getting only 10 to 15 percent of that or 100 to 150 watts. With ours….you can get up to 60, 70, 80 percent of the amp’s maximum power, so you get 600 watts out of a 1,000 watt amp.”
