Two F-150 dash styles are now compatible with the 9-inch system

Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. has announced the arrival of a new 9-inch Restyle dash system for Ford F-150 trucks. The X009-FD2 is a new model designed for select 2013-2014 Ford F-150 trucks with the MyFord® 4.2-inch factory screen.

The X009-FD2 is based on the X009, a multi-function system with audio, video and navigation features and a distinctive 9-inch touch screen. Each X009 system comes with a vehicle-specific dash kit and back-lit hard keys that cosmetically match the factory dash’s illumination color. Also included are the necessary accessories for plug-and-play installation including an Alpine/vehicle-specific harness, antenna adapter (if necessary) and a two-way, data-driven vehicle interface module.

The X009-FD2 is compatible with select 2013-2014 Ford F-150 XLT, FX2, FX4 and SVT Raptor models with the MyFord® 4.2-inch factory screen. The X009-FD2 replaces the factory radio and knobs with back-lit keys dedicated to the system’s most used features. The X009-FD2’s dash kit comes in a piano black gloss with chrome trim, creating a sleek and stylish look that fits into the existing dash without the need for extensive modifications.

Audio Features The X009-FD2 comes with several audio sources including a built-in HD Radio™ receiver for digital FM/AM programming, iPhone® and iPod® music control through the “Made for iPod and iPhone” compatibility, audio streaming, and Pandora® control from iPhone® and Android™ smartphones. The X009-FD2 is SiriusXM Ready and works with the SiriusXM SXV300 Connect Vehicle Tuner Kit (sold separately, subscription required).

Video, Rear Seat Entertainment, Navigation and Phone Features The X009-FD2 has a full WVGA high-resolution screen and an HDMI input for connectivity to HDMI-enabled mobile devices (separate adapter required). The Dual Zone feature lets drivers use a source in the dash while the passengers watch a separate video on the rear seat screen (optional rear seat screen sold separately). Navigation features include pre-loaded maps of the United States and Canada; 3D depiction of major landmarks, buildings and terrain details; and free HERE lifetime traffic service. The built-in Bluetooth® wireless technology allows for hands-free calling, secure simple pairing (SSP), call waiting, and icons depicting phone battery level and cellular signal level.

Customizable Sound Tuning and User Settings Customized sound tuning for the Ford F-150 can be applied through the free Alpine TuneIt App for smartphones. Using an iPhone® or Android™ smartphone, sound setting adjustments specifically for the Ford F-150 can be created or chosen from pre-made settings in the database. The app also notifies users of incoming activity on their Facebook wall through an on-screen pop-up notice. The Alpine TuneIt App with TTS (text-to-speech) is a separate version of the app available for $3.99, which gives users the option to have the message read back via text-to-speech. The “My Favorites” feature lets two users customize quick-access screens with up to 80 shortcuts to their most used features like audio sources, navigation commands and phone settings.
